The Pope received Ole Olesen and Chic Johnson, the U.S. film comedians, in a special audience last week and told them : " The world needs more laughter and a greater sense of humour today."
The two comedians were finishing a three-week stay in Italy. The Pope blessed a number of rosaries for their friends.
" You should be grateful that God has bestowed upon you the great privilege of making the world
laugh," he told them. " The profession of bringing laughter into the world is a commendable one."
