Ft IFING for a fashionconscious gentleman about town, the Pope has become the latest owner of a sleek iPod Nano, the ultra-fashionable MP3 personal music player from Sony. The pencilthin gadget, which can store up to 500 songs and costs £100, was given to Benedict XVI by a group of Vatican Radio employees to celebrate the station's 75th anniversary.
At the presentation of the gift, the Pontiff thanked the station's technical head. adding: "Computer technology is the future." The team also downloaded some of Benedict's favourite compositions, including Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin.
Last year Prince Andrew, having already persuaded the Queen to work a mobile phone, bought her an iPod Mini — three times as powerful, Catholics should note, as the Pope's model.
