America's Competition for a Statue
Liturgical Arts Society, of New York City, is conducting a competition for a statue of Christ, the Light of the World, to be erected in a niche in front of the facade of the headquarters building of the N.C.W.C. in Washington.
The idea of a monument in the nation's capital to Christ, the Light of the World, originated with Mgr. John F. Noll, Bishop of Fort Wayne.
The niche in which the statue will stand will be fluted with shallow coves of limestone 30 inches wide and will rise unbroken from the terrace to the coping of the building.
