Advice for the Bowmans

Keywords: Social Issues

How right Mrs Bowman's daughter (July 28) was in her wish to invite home a school friend who has had a baby which has been adopted!

And how wrong Mrs Bowman in her wish to treat the young mother as if she were a leper. She needs "courage" to allow the girl who has had a "little tragedy" to come for the day!

It is time Mrs B faced up to today's circumstances, especially for the young who have not been surrounded by the care her own family has been given. But is she preparing for the near future when her babies leave the nest?

She would do well to offer to house a pregnant girl for Let Live, or the other Pro-life organisations. She and her family would learn how lovable these girls are, and what a major tragedy it is for them when, for the baby's sake, they offer it for adoption.

They need to be loved and accepted by all who call themselves Christians. It is Mrs Bowman's attitude which might lead Jean to prostitution.

Chairman, Let Live London, Eli.
