Funny money

As THE impending imposition of the Euro upon Great Britain draws ever closer, it seems even the religious are displaying understandable concern.

Only 50 people were expected at a seminar held by the accountant firm Buzzacolt at London's Glazier Hall earlier this month on the single currency, though as it transpired, over 500 turned up. And according to my correspondent, the whole place was "stiff with nuns".

It emerges that religious orders and charities are fearful of the effects of a change in currency, a move that will have serious implications for their charitable status and their ability to collect money in different countries.
