Question and Answer in the Commons

Mr. R. Grant-Ferris, the Catholic M.P. for North St. Pancras, asked the following question concerning the Basque children, in the House of Commons on Monday: What steps are being taken to ensure adequate supervision of any Spanish children who may become lost or escape from the control of the Basque Children's Committee before being returned to their own country?"

Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd replied: " I am informed that the Basque Children's Committee keep a careful check of the children under their care and that no child has disappeared from any of the homes in which they are living or while ort their way back to Spain. The arrangements for their supervision would therefore appear to be adequate."
