AMERICA Thanks to Enterprise of a Catholic Weekly
The League of God, which is carrying on such a fine apostolate in England. has spread to America.
Our Sunday Visitor, a Catholic weekly with the largest sale in the United States, devoted nearly the whole front page of a recent issue to the inauguration of this crusade.
The plan suggested by the Rev. Dr. J. O'Brien, now studying at Oxford University. and adopted by Our un day Visitor. calls for the setting aside of One page in the month-end edition for League of God reading matter.
The plan is to mail copies of this special issue to non-Catholics and especially to members of the 70.000,000 people in America unaffiliated with any religion. The first issue brought the League of God material to about 3,000,000 readers. , This form of Catholic Action is spreading in America like a prairie fire.
A recent issue of Our Sunday Visitor features an article in which the Rev. Dr. O'Brien relates the story of the founding of the organisation in England, and describes the splendid results it is achieving. He quotes Archbishop Godfrey, Apostolic Delegate to Great Britain, who brought the work to his attention and described it as " one of those beautiful forms of the apostolate wherein the members promote their own spiritual perfection by bringing God to others."
