Plans have been prepared for the extension of the church of Our Lady of the Angels in Richmond Road, Worthing. The work will cost £8,000 and consists in extending the nave and building a new sanc tuary. It is interesting to note that the plans were drawn up by the father (Mr. E. Walters) of the former parish priest of the church of Our I.ady of the Angels, the Rev. J. E. Walters.

Margate

A fete was held recently at Salmestone Grange in aid of the building fund for the new school for the children of Margate, Westgate and Birchington. The school will cost the parishes about £13,000, of which but half will be contributed by the local authority.

Leigh-on-Sea

To assist the school building fund of the parishes of Our Lady of Lourdes, and St. Joseph's, a garden fete was held in the gardens of St. Edith's Convent.

Eltham

" We shall get it in due course," said the Rev. I.. Montgomery, parish priest of Christ Church, Eltham. referring to the £12,000 he is trying to raise for various parochial needs, at the fete organised recently in the Priory Grounds.

For the new church at Middle Park £4,000 is required; for St. Thomas Moor Hall, £5,000; for the debt on Christ Church, £3,000.

Pontypool Mgr. F. Mostyn, Archbishop of Cardiff, performed the opening ceremony at a garden fete held in the Convent School grounds at Pontypool, in aid of the general parochial funds of St. Alban's, PontypooL
