Pictorial inspiration

"WHAT a marvellous book the Bible is. For an artist and a member of the Body of Christ is is indeed a field brimming over with treasures. It was so for hundreds of years until this century or so it might seem when we think of the richness of the past. The Lord has allowed me to find my inspiration in this amazing holy library. For a Library it is; many different books written at different times and places. What you see then in this exhibition is a small selection of pictures from the Bible and an anthology of its literature. May they draw you to open our sacred book and relish the treasures to be found there".

So writes Peter Koenig in the catalogue of the exhibition of his paintings, banners, and wall hangings at the Cathedral of Our Lady and Saint Thomas, Northampton which is open until June 24.
