The Pope has accorded to France a "Marial Jubilee Year " on the occasion of the third centenary of the consecration of France to the Holy Virgin by Louis XIII.
This special favour is particularly welcomed by the church of Puy, which has always been regarded as " the most national of the sanctuaries of France dedicated to our Lady."
The opening of the Jubilee Year on Sunday, August 15, the Feast of the Assumption, will be marked at Puy by the presence of Cardinal Baudrillart, rector of the Catholic Institute of Paris; Mgr. Rousseau, Bishop of Puy-en-Velay; Mgr. Leynaud, Archbishop of Algiers: Mgr. Durieux, Archbishop of C'hambery; Mgr. Bernard, Bishop of Perpignan, and the Very Reverend Leon Perrier, Abbot of Saint Michel-de-Frigolet.
