A place to rest THE CHINESE Government has restored the

grave of Fr Matteo Ricci, the Jesuit missionary who was the first to establish Catholicism in China. His grave was desecrated by Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. Fr Ricci died in Peking in May 1601.
