Coronation mayor

Preston will have a Catholic Coronation Mayor, Alderman Thomas Singleton.

He will be the fourth Catholic Mayor since the Reformation. Alderman Singleton is president of the local branch of the National Newsagents' Federation. He has spent 16 years on the town council and was elected alderman last May.
