The Pope has conferred on the Vice-Rector of Oscott College, Sutton Coldfield, Fr. R. J. Foster, S.T.L., L.S.S., the rank of a Privy Chamberlain to His Holiness with the title "Very Reverend Monsignor", it was announced by Archbishop Grimshaw of Birmingham at Oscott College on Tuesday. Mgr. Foster, who was ordained at the Venerable English College, Rome, in 1933, became Professor of Sacred Scripture at Oscott in 1937, and was appointed Vice-Rector in September last year. He is a "recognised lecturer" at Birmingham University.
