FR BILL ANDERSON, administator at the Cathedral of St Mary of the Assumption, Aberdeen, was last week shortlisted for the Preacher of the Year Award.
Fr Anderson, nominated by a parishioner, told the Herald that he was "happily
surprised. I don't usually move in such exalted circles".
Michael Turnbull, the Anglican Bishop of Durham and chairman of judges, said that the event is beneficial in a wider context as "it makes preachers think about their preaching".
