Priest decries kidnappings
AN ITALIAN missionary priest has condemned the kidnapping of ten young Ugandans by rebel soldiers.
Fr Tarcisio Pazzaglia said that last Sunday a ten-yearold boy was snatched by soldiers belonging to the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA), who are fighting in the north of the country against the Ugandan government.
He said: "The pain in my heart is immense. It is atrocious that after 33 years in this land I have to witness violence against the youths of my parish."
Fr Pazzaglia, a Comboni missionary, who has been in Uganda since 1965, said that the LRA fighters were entering Uganda from Sudan and kidnapping the young people to turn them into child soldiers.
