M. Leon Harmel, promoter of the Christian factory movement, his son, and members of the factory council from Val des Bois, France, were to attend High Mass presided over by Bishop Ellis of Nottingham in one of the weaving rooms.
A party of 23 Irish employers. employees and trade union officials came from Dublin.
The special preacher was Fr. John Baptist Reeves, 0.P., who took the place of Fr. Hilary Carpenter, O.P.
During the Mass, Bishop Ellis was to invest Mr. Alan Turner with the insignia of the Knighthood of the Order of St. Gregory. conferred upon him earlier this year by the Holy Father.
