Fr. Ian Hislop re-elected

THE English Dominican province has re-elected Fr. Ian Hislop, 0.P., for a second four-year term as Provincial. The election took place at the provincial chapter meeting at Newcastle-on-Tyne on April 28 last but had to await conftrrnation from Rome.

The provincial chapter has sent a letter of protest to the Brazilian Embassy "protesting vehemently" against the violation of human rights of their Dominican brethren in Brazil.

Earlier, Fr. Hislop, in his capacity as Provincial, wrote to the Brazilian Embassy protest ing against torture of Dominicans, but it was stated that there was no satisfactory reply.
