A C.P.E. Association was formed in the parish of Our Lady of the Assumption, Engletield Green, on October 10.

Councillor W. E. Lawley, who, when installed in November, will be the first Catholic Mayor or the royal borough of Sutton Coldfielii since the Reformation, intends to ask the members of the Council to open the monthly meeting with prayer.

Mr. T. E. Henry, an old boy of St. Mary's, Derby, and of Ratcliffe College, has just been appointed managing editor of the Manchester Evening News. He has been on papers at Derby, Worthing and Leicester.

Alderman S. F. Brigg, a foundation member of the Chingford branch of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, has been chosen as mayor-elect of Chingford Borough Council. lee is the headmaster of St. Francis de Sales School, Tottenham.
