Over 140 members were presented at the annual meeting of the Pensmouth Catholic Women's League, held last week-end.
Mgr. King. Bishop of Portsmouth, presided and the main speaker was Dr. Letitia Fairfield, Chief Medical Officer of the London County Council.
Dr. Fairfield spoke of the ever increasing need of Catholic women to do voluntary work in all phases of social activities, stressing the need, to-day, of the care and attention of old people and babies.
