THE SON OF former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Runcie was one of the recipients of a top religious broadcasting award.
James Runcie last week won the Premier prize in the Sandford St Martin Trust Television Awards 1993 for his production of "The Figure on the Cross". The programme was shown on BBC2 last Good Friday. A second programme, also first shown on BBC2 on Remembrance Sunday last year, "Splendid Heart: Enniskillen", shared the first prize.
Also last week, spiritual work The Eye of the Storm by Kenneth Leech and academic tome The Meanings of Death by John Bowker won this year's Harper-Collins Biennial Religious Book Awards.
