Catholic teachers meet in Rugby

THE CATHOLIC Association of Teachers, Schools and Colleges (CATSC) will hold its annual national conference for the headteachers of Catholic Secondary Schools next month.

The conference will take place at the GEC Management Conference Centre at Dunchurch, Rugby, on February 6-7.

The conference will consider the distinctive characteristics of Catholic schools and discuss their role in a multi-faith society.

The principal speakers will be Bishop Declan Lanig of Clifton and Eric Wood, the Chief Education Officer for Warwickshire, together with two headteachers of religious schools outside the Christian tradition: John Smartt, of King David High School, Liverpool, a Jewish school, and Hasina Varachia of Palfrey Girls School, a Muslim school in Walsall.
