T'popular appraisal of Brazilian tennis star Maria Bueno as the foremost player in the Wimbledon ladies' singles championships on Saturday has brought back a picture of Maria's admirable win in this event last season. When Maria came out from Mass at Brompton Oratory the day after this "victory" picture was taken she was beseiged by autograph hunters. But this week admirers were kept at bay, for 20-year-old Maria had developed a septic throat after having two teeth out, and she was ordered to take things easy.
