Nobel prizewinners for London FR. DOMINIQUE GEORGES PIRE, the Belgian Dominican who won the Nobel Peace Prize of 1958 for his work on behalf of displaced persons, is coming to England next month.

Full details of his visit are not yet finalised, but it is known that he will speak in London at the Connaught Rooms on Monday, July 25. There, he will address 2,000 Soroptimists who are coming from all over the world for an international convention. The subject of his address will be "Facing challenges in world affairs".

The Soroptimists are an organisation of women who aim at promoting internal understanding and goodwill. Members in Great Britain and Ireland have raised considerable sums of money for one of the villages built by Fr. Pire for D.P.'s. Although their meeting on July 25 will not be open to the general public, it is thought that Fr. Pire might appear on ATV the following night.
