Brandishing frying pans and smoothing irons, nuns in charge of an orphanage at Gerignola, South Italy, took three burglars unawares. Scared by the " menacing cries" of their pursuers, the intruders fled. leaving behind them sacred vessels and the contents of several trunks stolen from a neighbouring church.
