Miss Ruth Crosse, a devoted member of Our Lady's Catechists, died last week at the Nursing Home of the Little Company of Mary, Sudbury Hill,
She joined the association 27 years ago and until last year she had instructed children unable to attend Catholic school in the Kingsbury parish for 18 years, and previously at Wembley and Burnt Oak. She was hon. treasurer of Our Lady's Catechists for 16 years.
When war came she prepared to evacuate London, hut hearing that the children in the Kingsbury parish were not included in the evacuation scheme, she remained in Kensington, and throughout the raids she continued her work, teaching the children and visiting the parents. In 1953 the Pope conferred on her the Cross "Pro Ecclesia Et Pontifice."
