Parents help with comics and homework

A circular letter sent to parents of boys at the Salesian College. Chertsey, Surrey, last year asked for a home-work timetable to he supervised, and also gave a list of the only comics which would be allowed into the school.

Speaking at the annual prize day on Thursday, Fr. John Maguire, Prefect of Studies, thanked the parents for their instant and complete cooperation.

During his report Fr. Maguire said that there are at present some 16 past pupils of the College at universities, some 12 others are studying for the priesthood. Two may he ordained Salesians during the coming year, arid another for the Southwark diocese.

Bishop Cowderoy presented the prizes.
