Diocese buys a police station

A disused police station in Walworth. South-East London, is to be converted into a Catholic School at a cost of several thousand pounds.

The station was abandoned by the police some years before the war and the Southwark dlocesan authorities have bought it liter outbidding a newspaper distributing firm.

Architects are working in cooperation with the L.C.C. on conversion plans to turn it into a threeclassroom extension of the English Martyrs' school. with 120 pupils. aged 11 to 13. It is expected to be ready by next September.
