The doctor of the year

The American Medical Association has named 80-year-old Dr. Joseph Greenwell, of New Haven, Kentucky, "outstanding genertil practitioner of America for 1953."

Shortly before the honour was announced the people of Nelson County and the surrounding area attended a Solemn Mass offered by Abbot Fox, of the Trappist Monastery of Our Lady of Gethsemani, on Dr. Greenwell's 80th birthday. Dr. Greenwell attends Mass daily.

Oxford president

Mr. Martin Morton, of New College, an old boy of Ampleforth, is to be president in the New Year of the Oxford University Conservative Association. Last term the president was another old Ampleforth boy. Mr. S. B. Thomas, of Lincoln College, who was also president of the Oxford Law Society.
