T'HE Catholic Mayor of Chester. _ Alderman Miss Mary Heaney, has welcomed the new directives which permit• attendance at certain non-Catholic services. • She said, -I welcome this immensely. 1 think non-Catholics have misunderstood us in the past and have thought we ',Ave intolerant."

It. Cot. H. A. A. Howell, the Catholic Sheriff of Chester, said that he stab delighted with the news. He continued, "A lot of us have desired this For a long time. It Will save us a lot of embarrassment and will encourage good fellowship".
