U.S. Catholics join council on ecumenism

THE National Conference of Catholic Bishops in the United States has accepted an invitation to have nine Catholics serve on the Faith and Order Commission of the National Council of Churches. The commission concerns itself with the theological aspects of ecumenism, including doctrine, polity and promotion of common goals.

Two Catholics are already on the staff of the N.C.C. commission — Fr. Richard W. Rousseau, S.J., and Sister Ann Patrick Ware.
