SPORT PALACE-" OUR CHURCH" Says Nazi Youth Leader

From Our German Correspondent

" This hall in which we gather in order to demonstrate our common creed has become a church of our faith," said Baldur von Schirach, Reich Youth Leader who, with Dr. Robert Ley, supreme head of the German Labour Front, opened, a few days ago, this year's "Vocational Competition" in the Sport Palace, Berlin.

There are 2,702,933 competitors, of whom only 618.766 arc adults. All have to show their ability in their respective handicrafts and professions, and all must sit for at. examination in Nazi "philosophy."

The idea is by no means a Nazi invention. Many years before Hitler came to power the Catholic Young Merchants' League organised every year a large-scale competition on similar lines-without the bogus philosophy, of course-for its members.
