CORPORATIVE PLAN IN CANADA Move Towards the Ideal of Present Pope's Encyclical

A democratic and corporative organisation of the principal trades and industries, each operating its own economic affairs is the ideal of the movement which is taking place in Quebec today.

The new movement, substituting an economic and corporate council for the present Upper House of the Quebec Legislature, says the Montreal Beacon, Catholic Mon

treat journal, "is in line with the Senate set up under the new constitution of the Irish Free State which came into operation December 29, 1937."

The new Corporative Plan in Quebec tends towards the ideal in Pope Pius XI's Encyclical on " Re-construction of the Social Order." It is practicable and sound and can be applied to a democratic government.
