Catechetical Centre gets new director

FR. GEOFFREY BURKE, chief inspector of schools for the Southwark diocese, will become director of the National Catechetical Centre early next month.

He will succeed Fr, Nigel Larn who has held the post for nearly three years besides serving as ecclesiastical advisor to the Catholic Education Council.

Fr. Burke, however, will only work in the centre two or three days a week, continuing his job of inspecting schools.

In the next few years, he says. the Catechetical Centre will set up a national institute to train region teachers. It will follow the pattern of Lumen Vitae international –eitre in Brussels.
