Cardinal Hume lauds importance of CMAC

AS President of the Catholic Marriage Advisory Council, Cardinal Basil Hume paid his first official visit to the organisation's Holland Park headquarters in London last Tuesday and look the opportunity to praise CMAC's services to family life.

Mgr Ralph Brown, chairman of the national Executive Committee, and other members of the committee met the Cardinal to discuss the different ways in which CMAC helps people to prepare for marriage and its problems and hardships.

The Cardinal showed particular interest in its work with the young and in its role in teaching about natural methods of family planning.

Cardinal Hume spoke of the importance of recognising the dilemmas which face families, and of giving them support in following a Christian and constructive way of life.
