New Altar in Palestine Church

IN MEMORY OF BRITISH FALLEN The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, Mgr, Louis Barlassina, has consecrated a new altar in the Crusader Church of the Ghosts, Palestine, to the memory of the men and women of His Majesty's Forces who have fallen in this war, 'The Patriarch was assisted by a num• her of his students from the Diocesan Seminary, Fr. Arrowsmith Lawkin, C.F., 0.S.B., •acting as an assistant priest.

Immediately the new altar was consecrated. a Solemn High Mass was sung by the Rev. D. Ford, II.C.E., Palestine Base Headquarters, assisted by the Rev J. Arrowsmith Lawkin as. deacon and the Rev. A. N. C. Potter as sub-deacon. The sermon was preached by the Rev. Eugene Hoade, 0.F.M., Superior of the Church of the Agony of Gethsemane.
