Six-In reference to Mr. Peter F. Anson's article " Looking Backward ", VIII on Anglican Chant, it is perhaps worth while for us to point out that there has been no revised edition of the original hymns in later editions, and no alteration made. It is true that Canon Dearmer edited Songs of Praise, and this is no doubt what Mr. Anson has in mind. But it would be unfair to the English Hymnal to allow It to be thought that all references to the Virgin Birth, the Doctrine of Hell, etc., had been omitted. It remains now what it always was. H. S.
