Free of sin

From Mr Michael Jordan

Sir, I read with interest your review, 25 January. of my book Mary. the Unauthorised BiograPhY,

anticipated much of Quentin de la Becloyere's reaction but feel

that he might have examined the book a little more thoroughly before making the derogatory comment: "Nor will anyone be surprised that the author confuses the Immaculate Conception with the virgin birth; that can so easily happen to someone who is out of his depth.

The book states, on page 253: "The dogma of the Immaculate Conception was not about the divine impregnation of Mary, but of her mother Anna, since it was important to the orthodox establishment that Mary had been free of sin since before her birth."

Yours faithfully, MICHAEL JORDAN, [email protected]
