'40 Martyrs' rally at Chelmsford

CHELMSFORD Football Stadium, holding 8,000-10,000 people, has been booked for this Sunday's Brentwood Diocesan rally in honour of the English and Welsh Martyrs. Archbishop Cardinale, the Apostolic Delegate, will attend, and the open-air Mass will he celebrated by Bishop Wall. The rally will sten at 3 p.m.

Relics of eleven of the Forty Martyrs whose Cause is now being considered in Rome will be venerated; sick people attending the rally will be blessed with the relics. A sermon on the Forty Martyrs, but with special emphasis on BI. Ann Line, who was born at Dunmow. in the Brentwood diocese, will be given by Fr. Philip Caraman, S.J., Vice-Postulator of the Cause of the Forty Martyrs.
