Pilgrims honour Bl. David Lewis, S.J.

BLESSED DAVID LEWIS, S.J., and the Forty Martyrs were honoured at Usk, Monmouthshire, on Sunday. when nearly 1,000 pilgrims from South Wales and 40 from Bristol assembled at St. Francis Xavier's church near the site of his death for the Faith on August 27, 1679. Mgr. P. Gavin, V.G.. of the Cardiff Archdiocese, gave Benediction in the grounds of the church. Prayers for the canonisation of the Forty Martyrs were led by Fr. B. McLeary, the parish priest. Fr. T. Lenane, Lc_ of Newport. preached on the life of Bl. David,
