The Newman Association is spreading all over the Empire. Just one year after it commenced in India news from Australia tells of its inaugeeation in Sydney.
At the 1939 Congress of Pax Romana in Washington the Sydney University Newman Society was affiliated, in 1942 the Australian Federation of University ,Catholic Societies was formally affiliated with Pax Romana and now with the formation of graduate associations, appropriately in the Newman centenary year, the Australian federation links with kindred groups all over the world.
With the approval of the Australian Hierarchy the association has taken as its " general objective ": " To invite and encourage Catholic • University graduates to dedicate their talents, under the Kingship of Christ to the service of Church and State by spreading true ideals of Christian culture and conduct."
Meanwhile news from India indicates the increasing strength of the association in that country and its developing influence among the Catholic students and graduates. Preparations are wellahead for celebration of the centenary year.
