Aiding children

rylHE Save the Children

Fund was extremely grateful to Mrs. Jo Stephenson for the very generous references she made in her article of December 6 to the Fund's needs and to the gift tags and calendars which we have on sale this year with our Christmas cards.

This annual effort at Christmas-time produces a very large amount of money with which we can help sick and needy children — more than 100,000 every day. and not 10,000 as was printed in Mrs. Stephenson's article.

In fact, we are now having to raise more than £5,500 a day to meet our commitments in 28 countries, including the United Kingdom, and help such as the CATHOLIC HERALD has given to us recently and in the past is invaluable.

Frederick Tomlinson Press Officer,

The Save the Children Fund 29 Queen Ann's Gate, London, S.W.I.

We regret the misprint.— Editor.
