THE commonsense attitude k adopted by Cardinal Heenan in the


Frost programme must make us all realise how fortunate we are in having such a person at the head of the Church in this country.

After seeing some of our bishops adopting an attitude of Le diocese. c'est moi it was refreshing to hear from someone who appears to understand the whole situation.

It appears that the best thing that most of us can do is to sell up our belongings and go and live in the Cardinal's diocese.

Ir was a sad sight to see a Prinee of the Church submitting to being "interviewed" on television by a young man notorious for his irreverence.

Once again, we viewed the outcome of ignoring my first axiom of debate: "Never enter into controversy with a social or intellectual inferior; lest one should be maddened by the insolence of the former, and saddened by the ignorance of the latter."
