Mother Mary Magdalene, OCD, India, writes:
"We the cloistered Carmelites of Poona are living it, a temporary rented flat for the last year and are in dire need of a Convent building of our own. Our life is a life of prayer and penance for the greater glory of God; for the salvation of souls and for the sanctification of Priests. We come to beg you for any help you can send us, trusting in our dear Little Flower to intercede for us. Our need is great: the cost of one acre of land, and of constructing the Convent and Chapel buildings as well as the enclosure wall, so necessary for our life of prayer and solitude, would be approximately £55,000. I know you will consider this appeal, and we assure all donors of a constant remembrance in our prayers."
These nuns have devoted their lives to prayer and sacrifice for the Church and for all mankind. Their only means of livelihood is making and selling devotional cards, so they have no funds to provide a place for themselves. They have prayed to St Therese, herself a Carmelite nun, to obtain help in their distress. Out of love and gratitude to St. Therese will you help as to Provide a little Carmel for these poor Sisters?
