New bishops for Vietnam

THE POPE has named three new bishops for Vietnam.

They include a coadjutor, an auxiliary and an appointment to the See of Bui Chu, which has been vacant for two years.Vietnam is the most Catholic country in South East Asia after the Philippines.

Killers urged to repent

AN INDONESIAN bishop says tribal Catholics who have been involved in ethnic violence need to repent and work for reconciliation. Bishop Aloysius Sutrisnoatmoko of Palangkaraya said tribal solidarity led Dayak Catholics to join in the slaughter of Madurese settlers in February.
