BRAZIL STILL DESTROYING COFFEE " Elimination from Stock"

Coffee is still being destroyed on a huge scale in Brazil in the effort to maintain its price.

Statistics from New York show that in December last 251,000 bags were burnt --a sharp increase in the monthly total.

Now it is so regular and recognised a procedure that the national coffee department of Brazil merely calls it "elimination from stock."
