The Osservatore Romano publishes an account of a conference on euthanasia which was delivered by Dr. Ferannini, the director of the medical clinic of the royal University of Bari, to the Fascist Institute of Culture.
Referring to the agitation in various countries for a law granting approval or permission to a doctor to bring about the rapid death of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease, he said that such an inhuman proposal was repugnant to instinct and to the traditions of the medical profession. "We reject it," said Dr. Fcrannini, "in the name of mankind and of science."
