THE ssT.W Anglican Bishop of Liverpool announced last week that he hopes to pursue the famous AnglicanCatholic partnership his predecessor Bishop David Sheppard enjoyed with Archbishop Derek Worlock with Archbishop Kelly.

The Revd James Jones, Bishop of Hull, told the Sunday programme he had a "theological commitment to working with Bishop Patrick."

He added: "I am looking forward to working with him as a friend as well as a colleague."

Archbishop Kelly extended an equally ecumenical welcome to Revd James last week. "Bishop James will come to Liverpool with the assurance of the prayers of Roman Catholics," he said. "I realise how glad the Anglican Diocese of Liverpool will be as it prepares to welcome the Rt Revd James Jones."

A smenssou to Robert Williamson, the controversial Anglican Bishop of Southwark, was announced this week. He is Bishop Tom Butler of Leicester.
