EASTER GREETINGS FROM THE VATICAN

The Secretary of State at the Vatican has sent out the folloWing Easter mes " The Information Bureau or the Secretary of State sends, together with the Faster Alleluia, a greeting of peace to its correspondents the Nuncios, Vicars, and Apostolic Delegates, and to the beloved prisoners of war and interned civilians. We promise to the victims of war our prayers for the shortening of their ordeal. Meantime, we are consoled by the thought that through our multiple task we are the Faithful interpreters, of the paternal thought of His Holiness.

'' Firmly confident in God, His Holiness with his soul full of gratitude to all and each of the Apostolic Nuncios, Delegates and Vicars, and full pity for al! prisoners of war and interned civilians, spread in large numbers through all the continents, raises to God a prayer invoking more than ever His presence in the duties of His sons towards Him, and wholeheartedly sends his Apostolic Blessing to all."

TO POLAND

The Polish announcer of Vatican Radio interrupted the usual closing announcement to broadcast the following: " As this Polish transmissioa is the last before Easter, we should like to give best Easter wishes to our Polish listeners. May our Lord who has risen from the dead hasten the day of His triumph and glory in the heart of every Pole, whether in the homeland or a wanderer in the wide world. May they, as soon as possible, gather to chant a joyful Alleluia. Praised be the Lord, for He is good and merciful for all Eternity."
