Pax Christi essay prize winner

Archbishop Roberts, S.J., presented the prizes for the Pax Christi Essay Competition at the London University Catholic Chaplaincy in Gower Street on Tuesday.

The first prize of £10 was won by Miss Mary Nelson of the Sacred Heart Grammar School, Hammersmith. The second prize was won by Anthony Barker, Christ's Hospital School, Horsham.

The subject of the competition was: "By their refusal to fight in the Second World War conscientious objectors betrayed the cause of freedom."
