Among recent Papal appointments announced from Archbishop's House, Westminster, are four appointments to the Order of St. Gregory the Great. The honour of Knight Commander is conferred upon Mr. Henry John Hope, second son of Lord Rankeillour, and chairman of the Catholic Action Committee. Knighthoods are awarded to Mr. G. Elliot Anstruther, hon. secretary of the permanent committee of the Catholic Congress and assistant editor of the Catholic Herald (this appointment was referred to in our columns last week); Mr. Edward Huntly Gordon, secretary of the Guild of Our Lady of Ransom; and Mr. Berthold S. Kittel, trustee-governor of Finchley Grammar School.
